• The Management of Depression in Palliative Care - Draft European Clinical Guidelines (PDF)

The European Palliative Care Research Collaborative (EPCRC) has developed a clinical practice guideline on the management of depression in palliative care. This work was undertaken as part of the EPCRC project to improve the assessment and treatment of pain, depression and cachexia.

The draft guideline is now open to consultation and professionals are invited to comment on the provisional recommendations.

The recommendations are provisional and may change after consultation. While efforts have been made to validate the information provided, the quality of evidence will be formally assessed and graded during the consultation period.

Points to consider

• Points or areas that are not covered, but which appear to fall within the scope of the guideline.
• Potential inconsistencies or any disagreement with the guideline?s interpretation of the evidence. 
• The practical value of the provisional recommendations. 
• Issues of style and format; for example, could the information be made more readable and easy to follow?
