Gilly Burn leads this tour (24 January - 8 February 2010). Along the way, a full range of professional visits give you a top to bottom view of Paliative Care and Care of the Elderly in South India.
The tour starts in Cochin and visits an Ayurvedic Hospital and pharmacy. We explore historical Cochin, and cruise along the backwaters of Kerala. Travel to Calicut in beautiful Kerala and learn of the Malappuram Initiative and the work of Trichur Hospital.Explore gracious Mysore and enjoy the cultural treasures of the city. Drive to the Garden City of Bangalore and visit the Baptist Hospital and the Bangalore Hospice. Following visits to the Jeevodaya Hospice and cultural visits in Chennai, drive to Vellore and learn of their community care outreach and education programmes. Our final stop is ancient Mahabalipuram on the shores of the Indian Ocean.
