Het 11de van de EAPC (European Association for Palliative Care) zal in Wenen plaatsvinden van 7 tot 10 mei 2009.
De laatste congressen van de European Association for Palliative Care in Aken en Boedapest waren representatief voor de internationale reputatie van de EAPC. Het congres in Wenen zal voortbouwen op deze reputatie.
Onderwerpen die in Wenen aan de orde zullen komen:
- Symptom control – what evidence is required
- Geriatrics in palliative care – concepts for the future
- Palliative care in children
- Needs for palliative care in non-oncology patients
- Outcome in palliative care – assessment and measurement
- Resilience in palliative care – a shift of paradigm
- Concepts of autonomy - which are useful?
- End-of-life-decisions - what make them difficult?
- Euthanasia - different ways in Europe
- Education and training – challenges and opportunities
- Palliative nursing – how to develop specialisation
- Grief and bereavement in the context of different cultural settings
- Standards in palliative care – do we need concepts for a national standard
- Research in palliative care – what are the goals and limits
- Advocacy – stakeholders and decision makers
Op 7 mei zijn er workshops toegevoegd aan het programma.
